Our Voice

YAB meets once a month to get to know each other, build teamwork, leadership skills, and better understand issues facing the Kansas City community. ​​

2021-2022 Youth Members

Caroline Lubbe is a 11th grader from Overland Park. She has been with YVC since her 11th birthday. Caroline’s favorite service projects involve working with the elderly, people with disabilities, and children.  Outside of YVC Caroline helps with  adaptive sports and summer programs. Her favorite thing about YVC is forming relationships with her peers and community.  She  enjoys marching band, taekwondo, and playing with her dog.

Kaytlyn Winn is a senior at Shawnee Mission East and has been on YAB for three years. At her school, she is captain of her dance team, apart of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, President of Chemistry Club, and other activities. Kaytlyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends in her free time as well as running. She also is apart of IYAB and is very excited for the upcoming year of YAB. 



​Mariah Atkins is a ninth grader at Oak Park High School.  Mariah loves to be outside and spending time with family. She enjoys going on adventures especially when they are car road trips and have no idea where she is going,  playing soccer and band. Her true passion in helping out others and one of the reasons she loves being a part of YVC.




Reyyan Arain is a 7th grader at Pembroke Hill School. Reyyan has extensive volunteering list that has given him significant skills and knowledge. He is an active member of “Boy Scouts of America.” He was also an enthusiastic member of the “Young Leaders Club” at Pembroke Hill Lower School.
Working on YVC this past summer, has inculcated the interest and passion in him to be of service to those around him. He has recently received a CPR/ AED certification and wants to be a real life hero if the need arises. He believes that one should always try to give your 100% unless you are donating blood.
