Ongoing Saturday Opportunity ... Jan 10th and Jan 24th ... B.E.S.T. Community Theater Program! The Beyond the Evening Star (B.E.S.T.) Network is a program in Kansas City that helps individuals with disabilities develop social competencies through performing arts experiences. We'll be helping youth with disabilities to rehearse and put on a spring concert. This opportunity is unique because we'll be working with the B.E.S.T. network every other saturday through May. This service project is great for youth who would like to make meaningful and lasting connections with individuals with disabilities. Come make a real impact in young people's lives by joining us for this opportunity!

24th... Prom Dress Sorting with Cross-lines! For some young women in the metro, prom season can be upsetting because they do not have enough money to buy a prom dress.  Cross-lines is helping to make prom a good experience for all ladies by providing prom dresses to those who could not otherwise afford them.  We'll be helping Cross-lines prepare for this dress give-away by sorting prom dresses.  We might also help in their thrift store.  This project will be especially good for young women wanting to do service.

24th... Carondelet Manor! Sadly, this project is full! Carondolet Manor, a long term health care facility, provides care for older adults who can no longer live on their own.  YVC will be socializing with the residents of Carondolet. We'll have a great time playing bingo or doing crafts!

31st... Heart to Heart International! Sadly, this project is full! Heart to Heart is an international organization focused on improving the health and quality of life for people worldwide.  We'll be preparing humanitarian aid packets for the citizens of impoverished countries.  Come join us for the fun, worthy project!
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: 1021 Pacific Ave., Kansas City, KS. Special directions: From 10th street turn west onto Homer. Homer will go into the Heart to Heart warehouse parking lot, where we will meet as a group.

31st... Hillcrest Transitional Housing Thrift Shop! Come help us work for the Hillcrest Transitional Housing Thrift Shop. We'll be doing a variety of activities including helping to recieve and sort through donations, and helping to put the items on display. All proceeds from the thrist store go to help homeless families get back on their feet.

7th... Chameleon Arts! The Chameleon Arts program brings arts education to at-risk children in the KC area. We will be working with the children in the program on one of their art projects. This event should be a really fun and creative way to spend a saturday afternoon.

14th... Hope House Valentine's Day Party! Help us throw a Valentines Day Party for the children at Hope House. Hope House is the largest domestic violence shelter in Missouri. We'll be helping to entertain the children and make their Valentine's Day a good one, while the parents of the children get some time to themselves.

14th... Sanctuary of Hope! Sanctuary of Hope is a non-profit center in Kansas City, Kansas that serves as a place for people to retreat to when they need to get away from the stresses of everyday life. We'll be providing a valuable service to this center by helping them to clean and organize the sanctuary. As an added bonus, lunch with be provided!
